Rebound Child & Youth Services Northumberland’s Response to COVID-19

Northumberland County – The spread of COVID-19 is impacting every one of us and during this uncertain time, Rebound Child & Youth Services Northumberland (Rebound) is monitoring new developments and implementing the service changes necessary to ensure the safety of both its clients and staff team.

While continuing to follow local and Ontario Public Health guidelines, Rebound is evaluating the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic and what it means for clients and staff. Because of this, the team has made the difficult decision to announce the following changes to its services:

  • Suspension of all group programs until further notice. This includes Triple P programming, CHOICES, OnTRAC, READbound, and FASD caregiver support groups

  • Implementation of Rebound’s Mental Health Supportive Services now conducted by telephone

  • Any young person, or their family can call for telephone support at 905-372-0007, or by text at 905-269-7165.

“This is a time of great anxiety for many people,” says Carol Beauchamp, Executive Director at Rebound. “With this in mind, we are continuing to provide telephone support and welcome enquiries from new clients.  Ensuring that we look after our general health and wellness is extremely important during these uncertain times – which includes a healthy diet, positive sleep routine, and getting some exercise too.”

Moving forward, Rebound is committed to monitoring the ongoing situation and assessing whether additional changes are necessary to maintain the safety of employees and all publics. To do this, Rebound has been reviewing government resources and following the advice from health-care professionals to ensure that all protocols are enforced.
