October Newsletter: A Season of Gratitude

As the crisp autumn air settles in and the leaves begin to fall, we are reminded of the warmth and support of our incredible community. With Thanksgiving around the corner, there’s no better time to reflect on the past few months and express our deepest gratitude for the partnerships, friendships, and moments that have made this time special.

A Summer of Impact, Thanks to You

This summer was one for the books! From literacy programs to outdoor activities, we came together to support and uplift one another. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community partners who helped make it all possible.

This summer was filled with inspiring visits and meaningful connections! In July, we were thrilled to host local artist Kate Hessin, who shared her talent and passion for creating during Art Day. We also welcomed firefighters Jennifer and Lauren, along with their placement student Lyla, who joined our girls' I Shine! self-esteem program. In August, Jaclyn Diminie from Ignite Company Company joined the girls' group for an incredible day filled with excitement, encouragement, and empowerment.

We were also delighted to have Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mental health practitioner Jake Lauder join the boys' Be You! programs. Jake demonstrated the powerful connection between good mental health and physical activity, and the boys were captivated as he and his Jiu-Jitsu partner, Jay, showcased their skills.

Additionally, we partnered with the Port Hope Public Library for the first time, bringing our exciting summer programs to this fantastic community space. What a wonderful season of learning, growth, and fun! These collaborations brought joy, learning, and connection to so many, and we couldn't have done it without you.

Celebrating a Successful 4th Annual Ride for Rebound

We’re also thrilled to announce that the 4th annual Ride for Rebound was a resounding success! Thanks to all the riders, volunteers, our sponsors, Play It Again Sports Cobourg, Weedman Lawn Care Kawartha Lakes, and supporters who participated, we had an incredible day, with the most perfect weather. Together, we raised crucial funds to continue providing resources and opportunities for those in need, and increased awareness of our mission. Your dedication to our cause, whether through pedalling or cheering from the sidelines, has made a lasting impact, and we are already looking forward to next year’s ride.

This vibrant and meaningful artwork will form the foundation of our upcoming donor wall, where we’ll proudly showcase the names of our valued supporters. Blue Jean beautifully captures the energy and creativity of our community, and we can't wait to celebrate everyone who makes our mission possible right here on this wall.

Thank you for joining us on this journey and keep an eye out as our donor wall takes shape!
